Rabbit Mountain is close to Longmont, with great views in all directions. Access after sunset is restricted, so LAS obtains a special use permit for specified dates and times. We usually set up in the parking lot, as opposed to holding the star party on Rabbit Mountain proper.

Directions:

From the north part of Longmont at Hover Road and Ute Highway (Colorado 66 E), go west for 9.4 miles. Watch for the Rabbit Mountain Open Space sign on the right. Turn right (north) on 53rd Street, which becomes Vestal Road (55th Street), and continue for 3 miles. Look for the Rabbit Mountain Open Space sign on the right, and turn right into the parking area.
