LAS Meeting – October 15

Presentation about the Early Universe by David Barker

I’ll go through an overview of the early universe and what we can learn from instruments observing at different frequencies, focusing on some cutting-edge radio astronomy from the moon that may allow us to observe the cosmic Dark Ages, an era before the first stars were born that has never been observed.

I’m a graduate student working with Jack Burns at CU Boulder. My research focuses on detecting the radio signal from the Dark Ages and using that signal to potentially identify exotic physics.
